Dr. Mahtab Singh is a senior public health professional with over 3 decades of experience working alongside healthcare providers to improve the quality, safety, and effectiveness of care. His work focuses on strengthening systems that serve mothers, newborns, children, and adolescents—across both public and private healthcare settings.

A trained medical doctor with Black belt six sigma training and certified quality assessor (NQAS, NABH), Dr. Singh has mentored thousands of frontline healthcare workers, nurses, and doctors in applying practical quality improvement (QI) methods to solve real-time challenges. His coaching style emphasizes team empowerment, behavioral change, and sustainable results—built on the belief that those closest to the patients are best placed to improve care.

He has helped establish quality programs in high-volume labor rooms, neonatal intensive care units, and district hospitals, and has been instrumental in developing and launching India’s national QI movement through his role in the ‘LaQshya’ a flagship program for labour rooms and Maternity OTs. His experience spans large-scale programs with WHO-SEARO, UNICEF, USAID, and the Ministry of Health, including leading pilots like the “Hub and Spoke” district QI model.

Dr. Singh is a respected trainer and contributor to widely used learning tools—including coaching guides, handbooks, and case studies on infection control, respectful maternity care, and data-driven problem-solving. His practical, field-grounded approach resonates with providers across all levels of care.

He continues to support healthcare teams to build a culture of continuous improvement—where better outcomes, respectful care, and teamwork become everyday practice.
